You desire your wedding day to be perfect, not poor or average!
Your wedding day is the most joyous and important occasion of your life. You should consider the factors below before retaining an entertainment service.
1. NEVER hire a person or service based solely on price alone.
2. Contracts are serious, legal, and binding documents and should be treated as such.
3. Never assume you have a professional retained unless you have a written contract.
What "value" does a professional disc jockey & entertainment service bring to your event? Have you ever attended a great party? What was it that made it better than the other events? The food? The photographer? The flowers? Usually, it's the entertainment, yet a survey reported that only 4 to 6 percent of a couples wedding budget is allocated for the most important element; the entertainment. Entertainment is 5% of your Wedding Budget, but TWICE as many guests will remember your entertainment more than anything else!
COST REMEMBERED
Reception Hall/Catering 37% Entertainment 38%
Wedding ring 23% Gown 18%
Bridal attire 10% Flowers 16%
Photographer/Videographer 9% Reception Hall 8%
Entertainment 5%

1. NEVER shop by price alone.
No price (high, low or average) is a good price if you don't get the quality entertainment and service you need. With this in mind, think about what percent of your event's budget should be devoted to hiring professional entertainment that will guarantee the success of your event. I feel my services are modestly priced relative to the quality of service I provide. Although one's budget is always a factor when hiring professional entertainment, consider your expectations and what kind of experience you want your entertainer to create. A wedding reception is a very important and special family occasion and should not be placed in the hands of just "any entertainer". The cost for an entertainer can vary greatly. I encourage you to meet with several entertainers then choose one whom you feel is the best fit.
2. Make sure your entertainer specializes in the occasion you are hosting. A club DJ can play music, but may not know the etiquette and music popular at wedding receptions! Make sure your entertainment company is a legitimate business rather than some kid with a home stereo system.
3. Always see or meet with the entertainer you are considering in person. Your entertainment is the most important part of your reception and is responsible for nearly 80% of its success. You are better off with no entertainment than a poor or inexperienced DJ. I highly recommend you view a promotional video of any entertainer you are considering and/or see them in action if the opportunity presents itself.
4. Written References: Ask to see written references who are not friends or family members of the entertainer. Also, try to get opinions of reception hall managers, caterers, or photographers.
5. Insist on a contract stating your liabilities and their requirements.
6. Make sure your DJ can Emcee your reception. Microphone etiquette and one's ability to create an interactive experience is crucial to the success of your event.
7. Educate yourself on what a DJ can do to make your reception a success. Make the decision to hire if...
-
A full package is required and the DJ is also your Emcee, provides a cordless microphone, dinner music and sound system during cocktail hour & during dinner.
-
A variety of music is a must.
-
You wish for your entertainer to create an interactive crowd experience.
-
It is important that your entertainer coordinate all aspects of your reception from the Grand Entrance through the Last Dance.
-
There is limited space on the dance floor for the entertainment to set up.
-
You have seen and are satisfied with the entertainers music selection.
